Yesterday I swore my sword to [ENVY], expecting the act to make my place in the realm plain. Instead, I found myself measuring every duty I might have accepted, and every duty I had only imagined. You may find that an oath weighs more once it has been spoken.
This morning the oath still stood, but the certainty I expected had not arrived. It cost me sleep, and more silence than I meant to give the hall.
