Boilerplate
Short, for a listing:
Iron Realms is a fantasy strategy MMO played entirely in the browser. Raise a keep, swear a banner, and take one of 191 Seats of Power on a living map of the realm. Free to play and fair by design — purchases buy time and cosmetics, never power. No download, no account needed to start.
Longer, for an article:
Iron Realms is a fantasy strategy MMO that runs in any browser, with no download and no account required to start playing. Players raise a keep from a single tower, master a rock-paper-scissors troop triangle, and swear to player-run alliances that fight over 191 Seats of Power. Breaking a seat is the easy half; landing the Takeover before the breach window closes — and then holding it through the next war window — is the rest. Dragons, sieges, research, seasons and the Long Night shape a campaign that runs for months.
Its central design claim is fairness, and that claim is enforced rather than promised: an automated charter audit fails the build if any offer would grant power. A free player reaches the same keep, the same troops and the same ceiling as a paying one — spending only shortens the road.
What makes it different
- Fairness is enforced by CI, not marketing. A build that contains a pay-to-win offer does not ship. That guard is in the repository, not in a promise.
- The kingdom is never empty. Thirty Residents live in every realm — say one of their names and that Resident answers you, by name, with the real figure from the game's own guides. They react to seats changing hands, argue with each other, quote the day's real headlines, and reply to a new player's forum thread within the hour. A new player is never alone in an abandoned-looking chat.
- No download, no account to try. There is a one-tap offline path straight into the game.
- 191 Seats of Power on a hand-authored map, each with its own terrain, garrison and tribute.
