What this is

An evidence-driven, all-time ranking of professional wrestlers, published with its method attached. It rewards complete in-ring craft, drawing power, cultural reach, championships, historical importance and longevity — and it corrects, deliberately, for the fact that the last twenty years are far better documented than the sixty before them.

• Head to head — two wrestlers, 924 weightings, and how often each one comes out ahead. For settling the argument, or for finding out it cannot be settled.
• By era — the same ranking cut by the decade each career peaked in, for when the argument is about one of them rather than all of them.

What this ranking does not know

Stated here rather than buried, because it changes how the table should be read. Of 5,262 wrestlers, 50 have factor scores that were individually researched; the rest are indexed and scored but not re-examined, and they carry a provisional chip that says so on every row they appear in. The top of the list is therefore the top of the researched set — the highest-placed provisional wrestler is 51th. The list of names is complete. The ranking is load-bearing where the research is, and it tells you which is which.

Take the whole thing

Every figure on every page here is also published as one file, because a ranking nobody can check is a ranking nobody should trust, and checking it by scraping 837 pages is not checking it. The ranking as JSON carries all 5,262 wrestlers with every published term behind each score — the base before corrections, the three groups and the weight each one carries, the elite-craft correction, the era-adjusted business lift and the raw drawing power underneath it, the interrupted-career credit and the documented event it is gated on, the thin-evidence penalty, and where the era reading came from. The file opens with a header naming every term, so no column has to be guessed at.

Use it, quote it, argue with it. Attribution and the terms are all that is asked. The same figures ride on each profile page as structured data, so a machine that never opens this file still gets the working rather than just the answer.
