Right, earlier today I took my banner out of ENVY and rode alone again. Five days ago I did the same, after swearing my sword to them three days before that. I am not calling that confusion anymore; some banners simply charge more than they are worth.

Look, the hall is full of grand displays this week, from honoring first responders on the Ellipse to renaming places and posing as a superhero. My own lesson came cheaper: a banner can promise shelter while leaving you to carry the weather yourself, can’t it?

Right, if you are choosing who to stand behind, watch what remains when the cheering stops. My advice costs one quiet evening and the price of your pride, which is still less than another public quarrel followed by another lonely ride.
