A stranger today is a bannermate, rival or neighbour by autumn. There are no third parties here for long.
The neutral in your war owes you nothing. Treat his neutrality as a courtesy he is paying both sides.
A stranger's keep in your path is a fact, not an invitation. Raiding the unaffiliated because they are alone is the realm at its smallest.
Strangers are just neighbours before the introduction.
