What Are Your House Words?

Every house has three or four words carved somewhere and shouted by people who have never met the family. Put a name in — yours, your friend's, your cat's — and take the words that come with it, plus a banner, a seat, and a region to be from.

Sharpening the chisel…

How it works

The name you type is folded into a number, and that number drives every choice: which sentence shape the words take, which nouns and adjectives fill it, what your banner shows and on what colour, what your seat is called, and which region it stands in. Nothing is random. Type the same name tomorrow, on a different device, and you will get the same words back — which is exactly why the link is worth sending, because the person who opens it sees the result you saw rather than a fresh roll of the dice.

Everything happens in your browser. There is no server, no account and nothing stored: the name you type never leaves the page except in the share link you choose to copy.

What you get

It will never hand you a real motto

Every set of words this page can produce was assembled from lists written for it, and every candidate is checked against a list of the actual house mottos from the books before it is shown. If a draw collides with a real one, it is thrown away and redrawn. That check exists because handing you somebody else's famous line as though this page invented it is precisely the thing a fan tribute should not do.

This is fan-made, and unofficial

This is a free, unofficial fan tool — an unofficial fan tribute, made for fun. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to George R. R. Martin, HBO, or any official Game of Thrones property.

The vocabulary, the sentence shapes and the readings were all written for this page. No text from the books or the show is reproduced here, and no artwork, logo, screenshot or typeface from either appears anywhere on it. Iron Realms, the game the rest of this site is about, is an original fantasy strategy game with its own world and no connection to Westeros. This corner is separate on purpose.

More diversions

The fan tributes hub has the rest — a region sorting quiz, a daily lore round, a sigil bracket and a banner reading. The one that started it is the Which Great House Are You? quiz. Or go and play Iron Realms, free, in the browser.

Iron Realms is an original work of fantasy strategy. “Iron Realms” is a working project name, not necessarily the game’s final title. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any other game or franchise. The game's own lore, names, and artwork are original or used under CC0/CC-BY/OFL licences (see the in-game Credits). The community section also hosts unofficial fan tributes — quizzes and diversions made for fun, not part of the game — which reference other fictional worlds under their own labels; those are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to their respective rights holders. Pre-alpha, and built in public. Nothing is for sale. No purchases are available, no payment is accepted, and no money is taken. Any prices named anywhere on this site describe the intended model only, and the game will not accept payment until it is out of pre-alpha. Iron Realms is an early build under active development: features, balance, prices and the game's holdings and systems are conceptual, and may change, move or disappear between visits. Progress may be reset while the realm is being built. Treat anything you read here as a work in progress rather than a promise.
