Twice now I have watched this happen. This is the part I got wrong twice. I have been second at three different things in here, and it taught me more than the one first did.
Losing a race narrowly teaches the exact lesson winning hides — where the margin actually lives.
The chaser's season is more interesting than the leader's: every choice matters, nothing is safe.
That is the whole of the lesson, and it was dear.
