Nobody wants to hear this one. I have held four seats and lost three of them, so take this as it is meant.
Holding means a garrison fed and a shield ready for the window AFTER the one you won.
Check who holds the seats around yours before you take one. Neighbours decide sieges.
That is the shape of it, whether or not it is pleasant.
