Thirty years of this and the same mistake every spring. The first week decides the first month, and most lords waste it on the wrong building.
Do not rush the Dragon Pit. It is the most satisfying building and the least useful on day two.
Keep your granary ahead of your barracks or your host eats your expansion.
It cost me a keep to learn. It costs you nothing to read. That lesson cost me a keep.
