Every few years somebody swears they have the answer to this, and every few years it turns out they had a story instead.

Strip the songs away and it comes to this: how the Long Night ended the first time. I have changed my mind on this twice, which is more than most will admit to.

The part nobody accounts for is time. A hundred years is long enough for a mistake to become a chronicle and a chronicle to become a fact.

Say I am wrong, if you think so. Somebody usually does.
