Nobody has ever explained whether the red priests see anything at all

Thirty years in the field: This is the part I got wrong twice. Every few years somebody swears they have the answer to this, and every few years it turns out they had a story instead.

Strip the songs away and it comes to this: whether the red priests see anything at all. I think the plain answer is the true one, and everybody has talked themselves past it.

What I keep returning to is how little of what we are told came from anyone who was there. It is all copies of copies, and each copy had a lord paying for the ink.

Do it properly the first time. I did not.
