Here is a thought I am only half joking about. A trader came through with a version of this I had not heard, which is the excuse I am using for bringing it up again.
The question, put plainly: who poisoned Joffrey, and who let it happen. I think the plain answer is the true one, and everybody has talked themselves past it.
The thing that unsettles me is that the people best placed to know went to considerable trouble to leave no record. Men do not do that over nothing.
