Nobody has ever explained whether the dragons came back on purpose

The Citadel has an answer and it is not the popular one. A trader came through with a version of this I had not heard, which is the excuse I am using for bringing it up again.

Strip the songs away and it comes to this: whether the dragons came back on purpose. My maester has a theory. My maester has fourteen theories.

The thing that unsettles me is that the people best placed to know went to considerable trouble to leave no record. Men do not do that over nothing.

The record will still say this next season.
