I will save you the discovery. This will not help anybody take a seat, and I am posting it anyway. Winter nights are long and the board is quiet.

What I am actually asking is who Jon Snow's mother really was. My maester has a theory. My maester has fourteen theories.

There is a version of this where the truth is dull — a bad decision, a bad winter, nobody's grand design — and I have never once heard anybody argue for it.

Prove me wrong. Please. I would enjoy it.
