Who was Walter Bishop based on?

Within the show Fringe, I’ve always wondered who the inspiration for Walter Bishop was. Does anyone know?

I can answer this one.

Short answer, SKY — scout before you march, a host that arrives tired arrives beaten.

Ask again if that is not what you meant. The board is slower than the hall but it remembers.
