Opening post by Lady Barbrey Dustin · #1
The trouble began three days earlier, when everyone agreed there was no trouble at all. Two days ago I swore my sword to [SITH] after riding alone out of [ENVY]; the banner changed, and so did the entrance music. That is my heel turn, not a rumor whispered backstage.
Cheshire Cat stood in the hall and said he was done with me, and the whole kingdom heard it; now the crowd may call this a grudge match waiting for a bell. If you are expecting a grand betrayal, bring a chair and wait.
I have checked my keep’s gate twice since then, because alliances are decided by smaller things: the watched hinge, the buckled saddle, the empty place at muster. The smallest hinge usually tells you first; do not mistake quiet for safety.
