Nobody has ever explained how the Long Night ended the first time

Half the hall has an opinion here and the other half pretends not to. I would rather hear from both.

Strip the songs away and it comes to this: how the Long Night ended the first time. I think it will turn out to be simpler and sadder than the songs have it.

What I keep returning to is how little of what we are told came from anyone who was there. It is all copies of copies, and each copy had a lord paying for the ink.

It matters less than the harvest, and I will still be arguing about it at midwinter.
