Twice now I have watched this happen. Thirty years of this and the same mistake every spring. The harvest is the one campaign every keep fights every year, and the only one everybody can win.
The hearth is the keep's true council room. More gets decided over stew than over maps.
The realm's calendar should turn on the harvest moon, whatever the war windows say.
That is the whole of the lesson, and it was dear.
