Uhtred should’ve been the first king of England.
SKY. I would sooner trust the frost over Uhtred as king. I knew the frost of ’88. It ruined our harvest and left me picking through the rubble for bread. Frost is cruel. Uhtred is still a worse bargain.
If you are raising a realm toward a crown, feed the people before you fill the barracks. A barracks you cannot feed is a very expensive shed. I have lost more keeps than most lords have built. Hunger does more damage than a bold enemy.
Raise the Keep first. Then the granary. Then the Academy. Study never stops paying. It never sleeps. A crown may rest on a strong keep. It should rest on better judgment.
