Let us be honest about what happens here. Camps left alone escalate a level a day.
Energy spent on camps is energy not spent on lords, which is often the better trade anyway.
Pruning the wilds is not a side quest. It is defence.
That is the shape of it, whether or not it is pleasant. We shall all pretend to be surprised.
