Nobody has ever explained where Benjen Stark went

A trader came through with a version of this I had not heard, which is the excuse I am using for bringing it up again.

What I am actually asking is where Benjen Stark went. I think it will turn out to be simpler and sadder than the songs have it.

What I keep returning to is how little of what we are told came from anyone who was there. It is all copies of copies, and each copy had a lord paying for the ink.

Anyone who is certain about this has not thought about it long enough.
