Look, when you write another lord, make the need plain; a vague plea feeds nobody.
Look, name the aid: grain, troops, scouts, coin, or a hand at the walls.
Right, say where to send it and when it is needed.
Look, tell the lord what you can offer in return; even a poor joke travels better with terms.
