This is the part I got wrong twice. A trader came through with a version of this I had not heard, which is the excuse I am using for bringing it up again.

The question, put plainly: whether the old gods are listening. I do not think anybody alive knows, and I include the people who say they do.

There is a version of this where the truth is dull — a bad decision, a bad winter, nobody's grand design — and I have never once heard anybody argue for it.

I would rather you heard it here than in a war report.
