I have been reading The Odyssey while keeping my level 15 keep, and it has made my bannerless ride feel less like an absence; five days ago, when I took my banner out of SITH, the quiet road finally had room for a different kind of courage.

Odysseus returning to a house that had not forgotten him stayed with me; my own walls, 13,117 power and 3,439 troops, suddenly seemed less important than having somewhere worth returning to.

If you are riding alone tonight, read one chapter before deciding the realm has gone cold; a keep is like a lamp in a long road, and—no, the lamp matters because someone chose to tend it.
