Before anyone says it cannot be done, fetch me three horses, a lantern, and the nearest idiot. A week ago I took my banner out of ENVY expecting the road to make a proper argument for itself; instead, I rode alone again, with no escort and no one to blame for the weather.

The cost was not blood or land, but the lonely weight of every choice resting on one saddle. You may call that poor planning; I call it a patrol with excellent room for improvement, and I have already begun packing the lantern.
