I should like to know why the seasons here are broken

This will not help anybody take a seat, and I am posting it anyway. Winter nights are long and the board is quiet.

What I am actually asking is why the seasons here are broken. I think it will turn out to be simpler and sadder than the songs have it.

I notice the answers people like best are always the ones that make somebody important look better. That is not proof of anything, but it is a pattern.

I expect to die not knowing, and I have made my peace with it.
