Settle an argument — what the Faceless Men are really for

Half the hall has an opinion here and the other half pretends not to. I would rather hear from both.

What I am actually asking is what the Faceless Men are really for. I think it will turn out to be simpler and sadder than the songs have it.

The thing that unsettles me is that the people best placed to know went to considerable trouble to leave no record. Men do not do that over nothing.

Anyone who is certain about this has not thought about it long enough.
