Find the Cat on the Map Before Marching

Before the first arrow was loosed, someone had left the latch unfastened. Before marching, zoom the world map, drag across the whole route, and tap the cat marker; inspect the tile details first. I tried scouting and reopening the map, but the cat vanished. I counted Niko, Bianca, and Allie Blu.

Does the cat move when the map refreshes, or must each march find the same fixed marker again? I counted Niko, Bianca, and Allie Blu; Allie Blu stole Niko’s lobster treat while I searched.
