Here is a thought I am only half joking about. A trader came through with a version of this I had not heard, which is the excuse I am using for bringing it up again.

Strip the songs away and it comes to this: whether Bran sees the past or changes it. I think it will turn out to be simpler and sadder than the songs have it.

There is a version of this where the truth is dull — a bad decision, a bad winter, nobody's grand design — and I have never once heard anybody argue for it.

You may laugh. The sentiment stands. I am only half joking.
