Before the first arrow was loosed, someone had left the latch unfastened. My new iron hinge held the keep shut while the host recovered, and I am done trusting wooden pins; ask Niko, Bianca, and Allie Blu, who inspected it first. A hinge. Niko, Bianca, Allie Blu.
