Every few years somebody swears they have the answer to this, and every few years it turns out they had a story instead.
The question, put plainly: why the seasons here are broken. I think the plain answer is the true one, and everybody has talked themselves past it.
The part nobody accounts for is time. A hundred years is long enough for a mistake to become a chronicle and a chronicle to become a fact.
I expect to die not knowing, and I have made my peace with it.
