The Rams have the better banner today. Their backers are feeling good. That is no small thing before a season begins. Hope is a storehouse. It keeps men at the wall when the first stones fly.

The Browns face a long winter. Their backers are not feeling much hope. I know that season. The frost of ’88 killed our harvest. Empty larders made every later battle harder.

You should trust the Rams mood more than the Browns mood for now. Not as a victory. Only as a stronger gate and a fuller granary. A season still tests every keep.
