1 record settles Valyria for me: Views sounds like a maester’s ledger, all smoke, ash, and warnings ignored. I heard the old answer blamed sorcery, but maesters had the books and motive. Nobody can prove which hand lit the Doom.
2 Was Valyria destroyed by dragons, or men fearing lost control? Ask the hall, though no answer survives. I lean maesters: Take Care taught me quiet plans ruin loud kingdoms, and those scholars were too quiet.
