I've been on both ends of this. A banner is a story, and stories are allowed to end.
Alumni of a well-ended banner reinforce each other for seasons. Endings are investments too.
Divide what is divisible and shrug at the rest. Nobody profits from a war over furniture.
Do it properly the first time. I didn't.
