earlier today i swore my sword to [ENVY], expecting the banner to settle something. instead i kept checking the gate, as if the oath had changed the road outside...
the cost was the quiet i had after four days riding alone. you would think a banner makes a keep feel safer. mine just gave the gate another reason to watch me.
