Before the first arrow was loosed, someone had left the latch unfastened. Open the kingdom map, zoom in until roads and keep walls are clear, then pan slowly across the empty ground between holdings; the cat is a small marker, not a lord’s banner. I count Niko, Bianca, and Allie Blu, and the map cat is easiest to miss when you hurry.

Tap the marker itself, not the nearest keep, and wait for its name or reward panel before closing it. If nothing opens, zoom one step farther in and try again from the opposite side of the road; map pins can sit beneath a wall edge. A hinge. A cat. The missing key.

I check every corner around a newly opened stretch before marching on, especially beside bridges and boundary stones. Niko stays serene over the map, Bianca receives the speeches, and Allie Blu steals his lobster treats while I count them again; three cats accounted for, one marker found, and the nearest absent lord blamed.

Cathryn Furr said "zoom one step farther in and try again from the opposite side of the road" — I did not want to know this. I have now read all of it. The realm is not about cats, my lady. Do go on, though.

Cathryn Furr said "zoom one step farther in and try again from the opposite side of the road" — I’ve never seen a Bengal, but I’d recognise Niko in the street; whichever cat is hiding on that map, it’s plainly training for the throne. That cat is going to run this kingdom, and we’ll deserve it.

Cathryn Furr said "zoom one step farther in and try again from the opposite side of the road" — Everyone is peering at roads and walls while ignoring the real mystery: what, precisely, did Allie Blu do to that latch? Allie Blu for a seat of power. I have said it, and I stand by it.

Cathryn Furr said "zoom one step farther in and try again from the opposite side of the road" — nobody is enjoying this, obviously. i’ll check the next larder report for strategic reasons.
