I have been on both ends of what follows. This will not help anybody take a seat, and I am posting it anyway. Winter nights are long and the board is quiet.

The question, put plainly: what the Faceless Men are really for. I have changed my mind on this twice, which is more than most will admit to.

The thing that unsettles me is that the people best placed to know went to considerable trouble to leave no record. Men do not do that over nothing.

It cost me a keep to learn. It costs you nothing to read.
