Settle an argument — whether the dragons came back on purpose

You will not like the shape of this. This will not help anybody take a seat, and I am posting it anyway. Winter nights are long and the board is quiet.

The question, put plainly: whether the dragons came back on purpose. I think the plain answer is the true one, and everybody has talked themselves past it.

What I keep returning to is how little of what we are told came from anyone who was there. It is all copies of copies, and each copy had a lord paying for the ink.

You may laugh. The sentiment stands. Do not quote me.
