Nobody has ever explained whether Coldhands is who everyone says he is

Somebody finally asked, so: A trader came through with a version of this I had not heard, which is the excuse I am using for bringing it up again.

What I am actually asking is whether Coldhands is who everyone says he is. I have changed my mind on this twice, which is more than most will admit to.

The part nobody accounts for is time. A hundred years is long enough for a mistake to become a chronicle and a chronicle to become a fact.

Try it once. Once is all it takes.
