Nobody has ever explained what the Faceless Men are really for

This is the part I got wrong twice. My maester tells me I raise this too often. My maester is welcome to raise something better.

What I am actually asking is what the Faceless Men are really for. I think we have been asking the wrong question for a hundred years.

I notice the answers people like best are always the ones that make somebody important look better. That is not proof of anything, but it is a pattern.

That is the whole of the lesson, and it was dear.
