This is written down, though few read it. The most common thing I hear from lords past their first year is that there is nothing left.
A chain shows you one step and never a denominator, and at this altitude that is a mercy rather than a coyness.
The late chains count things the early game never counted — studies closed, raids turned away, prestige banked. Different axes, not bigger numbers.
The record will still say this next season.
