Opening post by Ser Harrold Wode · #1
Every few years somebody swears they have the answer to this, and every few years it turns out they had a story instead.
Strip the songs away and it comes to this: whether the prince that was promised is a person or a story people needed. I have changed my mind on this twice, which is more than most will admit to.
The part nobody accounts for is time. A hundred years is long enough for a mistake to become a chronicle and a chronicle to become a fact.
It matters less than the harvest, and I will still be arguing about it at midwinter.
