This will not help anybody take a seat, and I am posting it anyway. Winter nights are long and the board is quiet.
The question, put plainly: where Benjen Stark went. I think we have been asking the wrong question for a hundred years.
Ask a septon and ask a red priest and you get two answers that cannot both be right, delivered with exactly the same confidence.
I expect to die not knowing, and I have made my peace with it.
