Allow me a moment of unhelpful accuracy. There is a specific feeling when the banner over a wall becomes YOUR banner, and it does not repeat.
Losing it later hurts precisely as much as it should. That is the receipt for having cared.
The window between winning it and being besieged in it is the fastest education the game sells.
