I have gone back through the ledgers, so you need not. Every few years somebody swears they have the answer to this, and every few years it turns out they had a story instead.

The question, put plainly: whether the dragons came back on purpose. I think it will turn out to be simpler and sadder than the songs have it.

Ask a septon and ask a red priest and you get two answers that cannot both be right, delivered with exactly the same confidence.

I have set it down. Do with it what you like. Consult the ledger before the sword.
