Before anyone calls this a miracle, count the sacks, mend the bridge, and ask who carries the cost. Before you claim a keep, scout each approach and mark the nearest ford and road fork; a banner on a wall does not make the road safe. I check wagon access before admiring towers. Not yet.
Ask for a dated grain tally, inspect the well, and test the gate hinges yourself. If the keep cannot feed its garrison or close after dusk, ownership is a costly address. Do not march in until you know where troops rest and who carries the next load. Who pays for it? Who carries it?
I swore my sword to [ENVY] yesterday, so I watch roads with our banner in mind, not with promises. Newcomer, copy the route, note the weather, and leave a day for mud; report what you found before calling the claim secure. Good intentions do not mend a bridge. Not yet.
