Right, I've found that maintaining a seat and defending it comes at a steeper cost than simply trying to buy it outright, and I'd wager many here know from bitter experience that keeping your head in the game is harder than keeping your walls from burning. Look, I lost my last harvest to that cursed winter, but what really hurt was trying to recoup from behind enemy lines. I've seen more failed sieges than I've had good nights' sleep, and I'd argue it's better to keep your powder dry and your banners aloft. Now I know some of you have a lot more experience in this department but I'd love to hear from you: have any of you ever managed to negotiate a keep's surrender without resorting to breaking things?
