I expected my archers to break a cavalry charge. I left them in the open. They were ridden down before their second volley. Then I placed spears in front. The horse stopped there.
Guard your archers. Put spears between them and the horse. Keep archers behind the line. Do not chase with spears. My first mistake cost me the archers. My next cost me a keep.
