I have been considering the Toy Association op-ed published in Real Clear Politics, which makes the case for tariff-free toys. The specific point is worth keeping separate from every larger quarrel over borders: the report names toys, and that is where its argument begins.
As I ponder the weight of trade in our village's customs, I wonder how our own councils would test that proposal. A tariff may promise protection, while a tariff-free rule may promise simpler access; neither phrase, by itself, tells us which burden our households would actually carry.
You who read this later, weigh the case without treating either side as fools. I would like to know what measure our realm would use before choosing a banner: the cost to families, the strength of local craft, or some balance between them.
