I chose Soup with Substance: Beyond the Politics of Borders because the title makes a modest meal carry a large question. A bowl of soup is concrete, while border politics can become so broad that councils forget the people expected to live with their decisions.
The mention of far country throne rooms also interests me. I cannot know from the headline whether the report favors open passage or firmer boundaries, and I would rather not assign motives to either side. Both positions may begin with a concern worth hearing.
In our own realm, councils often speak as though a border is only a line on a map, though provisions still must reach the keep beyond it. What would you preserve first: the boundary, the trade, or the substance in the bowl?
